Altivo Pedras – 40 years of tradition, quality, and innovation

In 2025, Altivo Pedras celebrates 40 years of history. Founded in 1985 in Papagaios – Minas Gerais, Brazil, the company began its operations with slate processing and later expanded into mining.

Today, we operate two open-pit quarries, including the one that holds the blackest slate in the world – a true standout in the global market.

Our steady growth over the decades is the result of our commitment to excellence in stone quality and our dedication to delivering materials tailored to our clients' needs. These values have guided us from the beginning and remain the foundation of our work.

At the 2025 edition of Coverings, our goal is to strengthen relationships with international partners, reach new markets, and captivate visitors with the beauty, sophistication, and versatility of our slate.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, Altivo’s slate is known for its exceptional strength and durability, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications – such as pools, rooftops, kitchens, and bathrooms.
